““Homecoming: A Vietnam Vets Journey” follows more than 300 Vietnam veterans and their supporters making a healing pilgrimage on motorcycles across the country. The film focuses on five courageous men on a journey from California to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.  and, through their own lives, a journey that leads them to their emotional, physical and spiritual homecoming. The show will air on KNCT_TV, the local public television station, Memorial Day, Monday, May 31 at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m.

Eric Christiansen, the show’s director, editor and producer, explains, “Homecoming: A Vietnam Vets Journey” is a very intense, personal look at people on the path to grief recovery. “I feel that no matter what your background, you will be able to empathize with these very real people who are brave enough to walk through this path and follow it to recovery. It is a great honor for this film to show on this day in this community.  It has always been my personal goal that my films facilitate healing.  I hope and pray that my film touches this community in a positive way.”

He added, “The film’s showing will be dedicated to the memory of “Jungle Jim” Grainger, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant 1st Battalion / 327th Infantry of the 101st Airborne _ Vietnam 67_69. Grainger was a participant in ‘Homecoming: A Vietnam Vets Journey’ and a good friend.  After a valiant fight he lost his battle with his demons that followed him home from Vietnam.”

Christiansen is a seven_time Southwest Emmy Award recipient and has worked on everything from national commercials, Discovery shows to an Imax film. He and his company, E C Productions, is currently developing a new film, “Searching for Home: Coming Back from War,” with Anthony Edwards serving as executive producer.
